before we lose… [POEM]

before we lose our breath,
maybe we should breathe
might as well try different
so maybe we should leave

before we lose our sight
and start seeing things ugly
probably should close our eyes,
and imagine the dark lovely

before we lose all hope
and discover fear to be true
I should at least try fighting,
for a battle such as you

before we lose the reason
that was once the way we saw
you should learn to forgive,
at least yourself, for flaws

before we lose more sleep
awake in dreams of lore
there should be an awakening
we could ask for more

before we lose out on fate
and win instead a prize for loss
might be good to invest the time,
what more could a certain joy cost

before we lose our way
and find others to pass the time
we should just be strangers,
pedestrians to passerby.

From here, on… [POEM]

Nothing to figure,
a love visible
Not just for the moment
this joy, residual

I love you
have loved you
will be loving you

or for as long as is longer
than what is or whatever

since wanting to hear your story
became anecdote to my better

ever since, ever

No way to lose you
because I choose you
Willing to make it work,
because I choose to

I am here
have been here
will always be here

in perpetuity

or until there is no more being,
being useful to you or me

that meaning,
I want us to be
more unique than usually

and achieving understanding
through unity

ubiquitous, by spree

Not by any chance unsure
any pause is pure
Forever being the constant
always being the cure

I get it
have gotten it
will always have such

by design and deliberate practice,
with a patience certain to endure it

of course

Life is our canvas, to create
as we choose, is to exist
There are no supposed certainties
but to what we earnestly submit.
