The time we spend
arguing
is borrowing away from us
bargaining
sending our further
farther away from us
arduous
how we approach the argument
adamant
that neither started it
but hardened
making it harder than it already is
but so far away
from where it started
and the funny part then,
is…

We fight for no reason
just as hard
as we do for reasons
beyond that either of us can explain
until the evens make odds
and leave us with scars
equal to our pain
but seemingly for applause
to the cheers of our crowded minds
fighting
to break down the walls
that are hiding
our flaws.
