Social Media doesn’t ruin relationships;
People that are unhappy, jealous, and miserable, using the reach and abilities of social media to disrupt and cause dysfunction in relationships, are a contributing factor to the ruining of a relationship. But more importantly, not wanting to be in a relationship, not cherishing, not valuing and not respecting your partner, not working on, and not remembering that you are in a relationship, and blaming social media, is what ruins relationships.
Social Media doesn’t promote violence;
Media companies with agendas, violent messaging in violent music, violent images in violent movies and violent videos, violent products and productions… Violent people promote violence on social media.
Social Media doesn’t promote sex;
Irresponsible, immature, and ignorant people who share sexual images, innuendo, and information; Corporations and institutions with deplorable motives and maligned practices; Hurt and harmed, selfish, disrespectful, deceptive, devious and demented, sick people, promote sex on social media.
Social Media doesn’t promote LGBTQIA;
LGBTQIA members and their supporters, people with agendas and motives, corporations with bottom lines that are invested and more concerned with profit-making antics, politicians and politically-associated movements with manipulative schemes and plans, and people with intentions to dysfunction, distract, and disrupt certain values and structures, promote homosexuality on social media.
Social Media doesn’t promote drugs;
Companies that make drugs; Companies that market drugs; Companies that make money from drugs, and are more concerned with making money than they are with the health, viability, or future of the people that take these drugs; People who sell drugs; Drug users; People under the influence; Drug addicts; People (and companies) that know the ill-effects, side effects, dangers and consequences of drug use… These are the people that promote drugs on social media.
Social Media doesn’t promote alcohol;
Companies that make, market, sell, and profit off of alcohol; People that are sponsored by, funded by, employed by, and/or controlled by companies that profit off of alcohol; People that use alcohol to hurt and harm themselves and others; People (and companies) that know that alcohol destroys your brain, body, and ability to properly function and make rational and healthy choices… promote alcohol on social media.
Social Media doesn’t present black people in a bad light;
“Bad” black people; People that want you to see “bad” black people; Media, societal, governmental, and political entities that benefit from the idea of the “bad” black person… are what present black people in a bad light on social media. Companies and industries (and the people that run, work for, and support them) that profit from the “bad” that some people are and do, promote and produce ways and means to entice, instigate, and influence the imagery of black being “bad” are what present black people in a bad light.. in life, and on social media.
Social Media doesn’t make everything a joke;
Comedians make everything a joke. People who want to be comedians make everything a joke. People who are desensitized and depressed and devoid of empathy, compassion, and understanding, make everything a joke. People who are sick; People who are hurt; People who are frustrated and miserable and have no other way to deal with the harshness or cruelties of life find refuge in laughing at pain, at poverty, at problems. People who have an agenda and want you to be distracted from what is serious… make everything a joke on social media.
Social Media doesn’t desensitize us from having common sense, communication, compassion, connection, consistency, or community; Social media displays what we desire. It displays what we demand. It displays what we determine. Social media is not a person. Social media is ran and relied on, by people. Social media is not responsible or irresponsible; people are.
There are people behind social media doing these things to us. People with ulterior motives and illicit agendas. People with selfish intentions and evil hearts. People who have mastered the art of manipulation. People who have chosen to be weak and harmful to the rest of us. Extraordinarily insecure and jealous people are in positions of power and influence. Those people have corrupted social media and use their platforms to promote and spread the lies and energy that is todays social media.
We have to call out those people. Because social media only has the power and influence that we give it. It has no real control, nor reach, nor substantive effect, but for our subscription and submission to it.
It is time to do something, to say something. Time to devalue those people and their systems, programs, apps, power, control, reach, and influence. It is time for us to mute and power them off. It is time to wake up and reconnect to ourselves, in order to overcome this, and finally shut them down.
It’s time to start back socializing. It is time that we talk. Time that we actually connect. Time that we participate. Time that we actually love ourselves, like ourselves.
Time that we do more than like/comment/share/follow/subscribe.
It is time that we do the work to find out what we really like and who really likes us. Time that we comment on matters that require our attention and our action. It is time to share our resources and our knowledge/wisdom, our information and network. It is time for us to follow-up and follow-through on the potential and power that we have collectively. It is time to subscribe to what benefits and builds us.
Social Media can help us do that… if we choose it to.
