Some stuff ain’t meant to be worked out, on this side of heaven.
Stop letting people guilt and shame you into forgiving or forgetting everything that has been done to you. Listen, I believe in God, and I trust God to be a better mediator than me. If amends, and working it out is outside of my power, and if God is not facilitating a reconciliation on this side, then I’m going to let space be space. We will have to do better when we get to glory. But I’m not allowing the meantime to be a “mean” time. Anymore. I’m going to live my life now. Happy, unapologetic, unafraid, smiling, proud, and productive.
You do not deserve the shadows! You do not deserve the silence. You do not deserve to be shutout, shutdown, or shutup!
Even for YOUR OWN MISTAKES.
Look, you messed up. You made the wrong choice, did the wrong thing, went the wrong way. You hurt someone, you destroyed something. You caused pain, maybe tremendous pain. You and your actions affected someone, had an effect on someone. You are responsible for the hurt, pain, mess, that YOU caused. Yes, there is a price for that, a cost to pay. You are responsible and accountable for that. But not with your entire life. Not your smile, not your hope, not your ambition, not your faith, not your future, not your feelings, not your optimism, not your participation, not your presence. That is all too much to pay!
Acknowledge it. Accept it. Apologize for it. Move on. Do better!
YOU ARE NOT YOUR WORST MOMENT! You are not YOUR BIGGEST MESS UP. YOU ARE NOT YOUR BIGGEST MISTAKES. You are NOT A MISTAKE!
You have value in YOU. But you’re allowing a past, a problem, or a person, to restrict you from appreciating in worth. You’re allowing your mind and the guilt, shame, and insecurity of what has happened, to hinder you. You’re pausing and preventing you from moving up, moving on, moving out.
Listen, we are not here to suffer. We are here to experience. The experience gets to be more than suffering, more than hurt, more than pain, more than trouble. More than “survival”. We get to THRIVE. We get to progress. We get to produce. We get to participate.
We get to win.
We deserve to win.
Let’s get to winning.
